Real Estate Law
Overview:
Baur & Klein, P.A. and/or its “of counsel” attorneys have represented foreign and domestic investors and lenders in real estate transactions in many parts of Florida.
Baur & Klein, P.A. and/or its “of counsel” attorneys have handled contract drafting and review, escrow services, closing agent services, due diligence, issuance of title insurance policies, and a variety of transactions for buyers, sellers and lenders.
In Florida, the funds needed to complete a real estate transaction, together with the related documents of conveyance, are typically deposited with a designated closing agent, with the funds being held in an escrow account until the closing agent is able to officially file the deed and other documents in the Official Records maintained by the appropriate court. The closing agent also typically issues an insurance policy that insures the ownership interest of the buyer. Attorney Klein of Baur & Klein, P.A., first became an authorized closing agent in 1984, and he became an agent of Old Republic National Title Insurance Company many years ago.
Many Florida residential real estate brokers, buyers and sellers use a standard form contract that has been approved by The Florida Bar and the Florida Association of Realtors. This is commonly referred to as a FAR-BAR contract, and assuming it is properly completed by a competent realtor or attorney, it is typically fair to all parties thereto.
